The clouds hang from the sky in one uniform blanket, while the tree-covered mountains flank the river. Here at the New River Gorge National River, beauty, history, and opportunities for learning abound.
RVing (with kids!)
RVing with kids was never on our bucket list (bicycles are more our style).
But it just so happened that all the starts aligned, and an opportunity to own a motorhome showed up for a price we couldn’t turn down. So we’ve discovered the joys of RVing with kids by trial and error—much like everything else we do).
Cycling is still a great love for us, and we hope to still do lots of cycle touring (there’s enough room in our RV to bring our bikes!). But we’ll be covering more ground with the motorhome, parking it, and then cycle touring our way around… when travelling becomes a thing again.
We’ve been home like everyone else for the better part of a year, and we’re not really sure when we’ll be heading out with the motorhome again. I’m high-risk, so we’re trying to stay put as much as we can. But that doesn’t mean that we can’t dream up our next adventure—and help you do the same.
In this section of the blog, you can read about our previous experiences RV travelling with your kiddos, and find useful information for your own RV trips. We’ve done a little bit of everything in our RV.
We started with little microadventures close to home, but then we spent 9 months travelling from 2018-2019, and it’s all here on the blog. Just scroll through or hit the search box for more info about the places we visited. There are also some posts where I share some of our mistakes and some of our favourite resources for full or part-time living on the road.
Follow this section of the blog if you’d like to learn more about our family adventures or how to plan your own :)

Boston’s Inspirational Places & Spaces
As we continue our year of travel, I find inspiration in many places. Boston is a city bursting with history, the beauty of nature, and inspiration aplenty. It’s also a great city to visit with young children.

Finding Inspiration in the Colours of Maine
Although summer will always be my favourite season, there’s no denying that fall brings inspiration with its beautiful colours. In Maine, we’re treated to these colours in full display.

Canadian East Coast: Friendly & Beautiful

The water sparkles like a million jewels as the sun shines down on the Atlantic, and as I look on, I know that the beauty and wonder of the ocean will never cease to amaze me. I am Vó Zilah’s granddaughter, and at the risk of quoting a famous Disney movie, the ocean… “it calls me.”

Newfounland, you definitely make an impression
I’m experimenting with a new way of writing down my memories. I’d love to know what you think. Do you like this type of writing, or do you prefer a simple “this is what we did” account?
