I’m a nomad at heart, but I only discovered this fact about myself in the last 6 years or so. Growing up, I moved around a lot—I lost count at house number 12.
I’ve lived in a lot of different houses, 6 cities, 3 countries, and 2 continents, and I spent my entire childhood wishing that I could just stay put in one house, like all my friends. And then I got what I wanted. And after 8 years in the same house, I’ve realized the grass isn’t greener on the other side… and the travel bug bites hard.
While selling everything and hitting the road isn’t currently an option (not everyone in my family is quite as spontaneous as me), we are adventurers, and we’re living life on our own terms, giving our kids experiences they’ll remember for life. Whether it’s a 500-kilometer bicycle trip, international travel, or planning a trip in a RV, we’re grabbing life by the horns and showing our kids what this great big world has to offer.
